Tour program
After you arrive, we'll meet you at the airport and help to get to the hotel. We will have a walk around wintery Yerevan and around the gorge, which stretches through the city.
Our first destination is Bjni, a village on a bank of Hrazdan river, where ancient churches and a fortress have been preserved. Out of many well-known sources of mineral water, here is one of the most famous sources- with the same name Bjni.
Hanqavan is another place with hot mineral springs. We will go there.
Located in a river gorge sanatorium is situated between two mountain ranges, which are covered with thick forests, and give the area a fairy look, especially in winter.
Sevan Lake comes next. The lake is beautiful at all seasons, and in winter it sometimes freezes, but this doesn't happen always.
In Dilijan, there are mineral water sources, too. This isn't the only property in the city. It is situated in a forest- in the National Park, and is a perfect place for both summer and winter rest. Not far from Dilijan, on a hill stand the monastery of Matosavank. Our first winter hiking will be there.
Then, we'll return to Dilijan for the overnight stay.
On the third, a hike to Makaravank monastery will be organised. We will get there climbing the mountain Paytatap, the height of which gets to almost 2000 m, and which is covered with forests.
Then, we will have a hike to Arakeloc monastery. The monastery is situated on the right bank of a river, on a hill, and on both riverbanks, there are preserved buildings of the old village Arakelots.
If we manage, we'll probably hike to another monastery, situated in a fairy winter forest- to the monastery of Mshkavank.
On a hill above the river valley, in Haghpat village, where we will hike next, stands Haghpat monastery. The monastery was a famous spiritual centre of medieval Armenia and still keeps its importance.
Not far from the monastery, we'll have the overnight stay.
On the fourth day of our winter hiking, we will hike to three monasteries- Kobayr, Horomayr, and Odzun. The first 2 monasteries amaze not only with the fact that they've been preserved till our days but also with the place, where they were built- on the edges of rock. And Odzun monastery amazes with its antiquity- it's been standing here for 15 centuries. The path itself, through which we'll make this wonderful hike differs with its special beauty.
For the overnight stay, we'll return to Haghpat.
The gorge of Dzoraget River and its Tributaries is one of the most beautiful gorges in Armenia. On this day of a winter hike, we will get close to the secrets of "Lori Berd" fortress and the gorges surrounding the fortress on both sides, where, there are preserved ancient buildings and a unique stone bridge.
The overnight stay will be not far from Stepanavan.
Of course, you'll like the hiking through a picturesque gorge to the monastery of Hnevank.
And then, we will go to a small, but ancient cave settlement.
The last destination, before we return to Yerevan is proudly standing on a plain monastery of Marmashen. It's an important medieval architectural monument.
Returning to Yerevan, perhaps, we'll visit another interesting place.
Winter is the right time to visit many interesting places in Yerevan, such as museums, theaters,
concerts ... Also, you can enjoy Armenian wine in various restaurants and cafés. However, on this day you'll have free time, and you can choose what kind of interesting activities you want to do.
And we will provide you with a transfer to the airport.
